Folk Clothing | Jackets
Inspired by their constantly developing design story and collection of references, the Folk SS19 ‘Collectors’ range looks to achieve a balance between utility and sportswear through pieces made from selected textiles that offer comfort and sophistication throughout the warmer seasons. Boxy silhouettes are reminiscent of ‘50s styles whilst a muted colour palette allows for personalisation, and of course subtle yet effective details are at the heart of each design. Showing their appreciation for up and coming British talent, collaborations with the likes of painters Alfie Kungu and the Goss Brothers have resulted in abstract print designs presented across relaxed collar shirts and matching shorts.
Launched in 2002, Folk is a London based clothing brand which boasts a quietly elegant aesthetic that attracts those who appreciate the finer details. Founder Cathal Mcateer became bored of people buying clothing for the sake of branding and sought to launch his own brand with an ‘everything means something’ attitude, ensuring that details are at the heart of each design alongside a considered use of colour, fabric and cut. With a strong love for learning, balanced with having a good time both outdoors and within a city, Mcateer designs seasonal collections of classic styles and silhouettes suited to fans of contemporary casualwear seeking less obvious, everyday essentials.
