Nike Air Max 1 Centre Pompidou Shoes - Wolf Grey / Black - Cool Grey
Limited to one pair per customer.
One of two new members to the Air Max family, this style is the ‘By Night’ edition of the Nike Air Max 1 Centre Pompidou Shoes. Offered in a tonal wolf grey and cool grey with a standout black ‘swoosh’ the outer is constructed from a combination of leather, suede and breathable mesh. Just like the first edition of the Air Max 1, this style showcases the structure through the iconic air bubble and features foam Air-sole comfort plus a cushioned lining.
Designed by the iconic Tinker Hatfield, former architect, now Vice President for Design and Special Projects for Nike, inspiration has been sourced from the Pompidou in Paris. The silver edged contour lines reference how the Pompidou glistens during the nights in the city, set against the solid tonal grey background.
On the underside of the shoe you can see a multicoloured stripe design with a visible ‘P’ logo, further crediting the original design source, layered with a custom translucent outsole. Offering foot and ankle support thanks to the cushioned ankle and lining, this style offers a piece of Nike history in an exclusive colourway.
Inspired by the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the Nike Air Max 1 was the first style to be released in 1987 as part of the Nike Air Max family. The visible air unit has become a stand out feature across styles, alongside Air-sole cushioning and a supportive lining. As iconic now as the original, the Pompidou range has been released in limited numbers, keeping the range exclusive.
