Veja Womens V-12 B-Mesh Shoes

Veja Womens V-12 B-Mesh Shoes in White, Purple and Yellow Fluoro. Made from ecological and sustainable materials, this colourful variation of the Veja Womens V-12 B-Mesh Shoes has been crafted from 100% recycled polyester from recycled plastic bottles across the textural uppers and overlay panels from suede and leather have been positioned on top for additional durability in key areas. Contrasting to the mostly white design, bright pops of colour have been added that include purple tone ‘V’ emblems on either side of the foot and a striking yellow fluoro overlay on the heel where statement ‘Veja’ lettering in white has been applied. Additionally, a smaller scale ‘V-12’ print can be seen on the outer back edge of the foot to highlight the model and below the top edge of the curved, lightweight tongue the brand’s official logo has been applied in grey. The lace up fastening holds the foot comfortably in place and throughout the inside of the shoe a smooth organic cotton and recycled polyester lining has been added, alongside an insole made from a combination of wild rubber and other synthetic materials. Split into two different tones to demonstrate its layered construction, the sole is made partly from wild rubber sourced sustainably from the Amazonian forest with a textural tread underfoot to ensure reliable traction.

Helping to reshape the footwear industry with more conscious practises that focus on ensuring good conditions and livelihoods for makers and reduced impact on the natural world, Veja is a Paris-based footwear brand that was founded by François-Ghislain Morillion and Sébastien Kopp. Taken aback by the conditions they witnessed in a Chinese factory in 2003, the duo decided to launch their own company after focused research years later which has led them to develop links to Brazil, showing how it is possible to create footwear using natural fabrics and ethically considered methods.
