AiC: The Edit - December 2023

The winter months unveil their presence with a study in contrast. Bright, colder days and transforming landscapes welcome the final month of the year, with curations for December focused on highlighting the technicality and insulating function behind favourites from ROA Hiking, Gramicci and Merrell. Hooded sweaters and midweight fleeces provide convenient underlay options, with the Pertex® shelled and wander Alpha Air Hoodie and the stretchy knit Nike ACG Lichen Caps Hoodie both designed with a Polartec® construction. Quilted and insulated with a mixed down and feather filling, the ROA Light Down Vest is styled to maximise heat retention with a two-way zipper, a toggle cord hem and an integrated quilted hood. 

Part of the brand’s collection with French-Japanese label Maison Kitsuné, the and wander Cotton Wool Pants seek influence from heritage styling and alpine utility to feature a co-branded webbing belt, pleated seams and contrast stitching. Similarly styled with influence hailing from mountaineering culture, the popular Gramicci Original G Pants return for Winter ‘23 in a refreshing selection of ashy colourways including dusty lavender, dusty khaki and dusty lime.  

Built to endure winter’s interspersed terrain with technical inspiration sourced from cold weather necessities, the Merrell Winter Moc Zero now available in an all-black colourway features a DWR treatment, low-bulk insulation and patented Merrell Air Cushion shock absorbency. For maximised on-the-go storage, the Cayl Cho Pee Bag is designed with an interior capacity up to 20-litres, whilst exterior pockets, bungee-cord webbing and a 2000mm water resistant shell enhance all-weather function. 

Well suited as an alternative to a heavyweight jacket or coat, wool-blend layers such as the ROA Polar Fleece Jacket provide additional warmth when paired with casual everyday staples including the Nike ACG Lungs T-Shirt now available in summit white & purple cosmos. Offering two-in-one convenience with a convertible design suitable for winter, spring and summer wear, the Nike ACG Trail Zip-Off Pants feature an integrated ACG G-Hook webbing belt and a reinforced gusset and are styled in a warming dark russet colourway synonymous with autumnal hues. 

A combination of trail and cityscape function, the Salomon XT-6 returns to AiC in an earthy black, falcon & cow hide colourway. Archive influenced with enhanced OrthoLite®, Contagrip TA™ and EnergyCell™ inserts to provide an advanced wear across the transitioning seasons.
