Established in 1994 by Hardy Blechman, Maharishi is a London based streetwear label continually defined by a passion for pacifist military design and both Eastern and Western influence. A literal Sanskrit translation of the term ‘great seer’ with a great vision in clothing, Maharishi’s progressive design narrative explores the dualistic nature of the universe with a respect and appreciation for modernised technology and the ancient symbolism associated with both nature and art.
Providing contemporary solutions to everyday necessity, Maharishi’s technical and utility orientated aesthetic pairs military themed designs with a passion for quality craftsmanship. Re-interpreting military design ideologies with a focus on enhanced functionality and eco-friendly fabrics, the brand’s own Maha systems are designed with user comfort and practicality in mind. Signature tech includes the brand’s Snobutton® and Snocord® systems, with their Temple Ball® patented technology being exclusively designed by long-term military metal zip manufacturer Riri in Switzerland.
