More than two decades have passed since the release of the revolutionary Nike Air Max 95. It was the boundary pushing design modelled after human anatomy that turned heads, coincided by the celebrated Air Max unit that made the shoe a phenomenon. The icon has been revived in the form of the Nike Air Max 95 OG, coming in a White / Solar Red - Granite - Dust colourway, paying some serious homage to its predecessor.
In terms of aesthetic, designer Sergio Lozano took risk through inspiration of design from human ribs, vertebrae, muscles and skin, which emanates through the Air Max 95’s upper. Constructed with synthetic and leather overlays, the Nike Air Max 95 OG features an iconic lacing system, which works to create a custom fit for its wearer, a solid rubber modified outsole for optimal traction with no loss in flexibility and flex grooves on the outsole that move naturally with your foot.
The colours of the Nike Air Max 95 OG are spot on, with the light dust fading into dark granite, while tonal detailing on the midsole and tongue reflect the original design. Offering nice contrast, the solar red pops in places, really accentuating the silhouette, with things finished off with a bold embroidered Swoosh.
