Autumn / Winter
2018 lookbook
We are pleased to present our lookbook for Autumn/Winter 2018, featuring a host of our favourite picks for the new season that we hope will inspire you to step out into unpredictable weather and thoroughly enjoy the up and coming seasons, moving into the New Year.
The main influence behind our selections for these seasons were the brands themselves. Sumptuous knits produced entirely in Scotland, outerwear inspired by outdoor culture from the 1960s - 1980s and classic bakers jackets, all produced by brands that encourage craftsmanship and versatility. We’ve selected styles that we know will look as great in the city as they will being utilised on a weekend hike. We focused on tonal colour combinations and combining different fabric weights, to create a subtle level of interest that is suitable for everyday wear. Light styling tips from the early 1960s, encouraged us to roll the hems and to flash a white sock, which we found suited the contemporary selection.
Colour hues from the stronger styles influenced our international selection of footwear; Stepney Workers Club from East London, Veja hailing from France and two bold Nike Air Max styles. Keeping outfits tonal, we wanted our suggestions to look fresh and modern, with cheery pops of colour that are always appreciated with the nights beginning drawing in earlier than we’d prefer. An idea of bringing interest to formality influenced our more formal suggestion which pairs Norse Projects and Universal Works. The London Jacket has a slightly longer silhouette than you may be used to, which we think adds a great level of charm. We’re always pleasantly surprised by Tender, who supply us with some really inspiring crafted shirts that all have their own unique production technique, we’ll be pairing them with lightly tailored jackets for a smart casual uniform or event.
Our vision for our Autumn / Winter lookbook included varying scenarios; a weekend coastal walk, a comfortable sunday at home sporting socks and sandals - if that’s your thing - and everyday lightly tailored trousers with a statement jacket. We felt the fantastic textures produced by natural fabrics such as brushed wool and organic cottons paired nicely with the crisp water resistant outerwear; pieces didn’t need much extra fuss - the attractive weights and finishes speak for themselves when it comes to quality and are sure to bring you joy.
