Converse
As one of the most iconic footwear brands in the world, Converse retains its place within fashion, music and creative history by continually reinventing their classic silhouettes and styles using fabrics, decorative effects and the creative input of guest artists. As famous in music as they are in sport, Converse shoes are a continued symbol of self-expression, made for the individual.
Marking a milestone for the brand and sitting in line with an ongoing discussion of sustainability, the Converse Renew Project was launched for the summer of 2019, followed by denim variations in 2020. Promoting the more conscious future ahead for Converse, the line is supported by the tagline of ‘there’s always a way to renew what we do’ in order to highlight the amount of industry waste created within production and creative solutions as to how they can be reused through repurposing and upcycling.
Whilst the Renew project looks to the future, Converse are not ones to forget their past and continually celebrate this with a selection of reintroduced archival prints. Original patterns dating from 1983 onwards have been included against CTAS 70’s Hi, CTAS 70’s Ox and Lucky Star Hi models whilst the Converse JP Ox celebrates the brand’s connection to sportswear as a nod to the original badminton footwear design with signature Jack Purcell ‘smile’ inserts around the front of the toes.
