With surf shops in Venice Beach and Silver Lake, John McCambridge’s Mollusk is a Californian institution that custom designs 'cut & sew' garments for premium fit, quality and comfort. Everything is imagined at the Sanfrancisco HQ, with some styles proudly crafted in Oakland and Los Angeles using US grown cotton. Regular hosts of art shows within their various store locations, Mollusk clothing supports their nearby surfing communities through collaborative collections, events and surf films which all incorporate aesthetics reminiscent of both the 1960s and 70s.
Continuing to incorporate a combination surf, art, crafts, music and film through hand-drawn screen print designs and considered fabric selections, Mollusk’s laid-back character welcomes a refreshing sense of modern-day appeal to any pre-existing beach or city setting. Artwork from the likes of Andy Davis, Matthew Craven, Nathaniel Russell and Jeff Canham is continually presented across natural-fibre cotton t-shirts, hemp-crafted summer shirts and vintage-style swim shorts, whilst the brand’s ‘cultural institution’ ethos and authenticated throwback undertone pay tribute to Mollusk Surf Shop’s admiration for the open-water and the West Coast coastline’s all-season allure.
