Founded by three siblings who were inspired by a talk from environmentalist Julia Butterfly Hill discussing the environmental impact of single use plastic water bottles, Klean Kanteen developed their first product as a reusable alternative made from stainless steel; a material specifically selected for its highly durable, non-toxic and easy to clean properties. With a shared love for the great outdoors, it was important for the design to not only stand up to abrasion and knocks, but for it to also work for a variety of activities. Over time a broad selection of easily packable drinking cup silhouettes and sizes have been introduced, alongside sports caps, insulating lids, leakproof twist caps and straws that allow you to customise and mix and match your setup. In 2018 ‘Klean Coat’ was launched to bring a chip-resistant finish in a variety of colours that is four times more durable than the previous version to ensure no matter where you go, Klean Kanteen products stand up to use in nature and everyday life.
