Levi's® Vintage Clothing
Each season the team behind Levi’s® Vintage Clothing look over a 20,000 piece archive dating back to 1873 in search for key pieces that are then accurately reproduced using a meticulous eye for detail. Lead by Irish designer Paul O’Neill whose upbringing of collecting records and vintage clothing means he possesses a strong knowledge of pop culture throughout history, the project is based in San Francisco where a small team of designers and historians work together to recreate capsule ranges.
So far key eras and events in time such as the 1950’s Space Race, Louisville’s Underground Punk Scene, Bob Dylan’s customised ‘Freewheelin’ Suze’ jeans and the dancehall era of Jamaica in the 1970’s have provided key influence for recreated originals, constructed with great attention and consideration to detail. From thread count and weight, to dye techniques and replicated buttons, every element is added as the original would have done to ensure a truly authentic finish that can be appreciated by those present the first time around and others looking to experience a piece of magic from history for themselves.
Celebrating the history and impact of clothing throughout time, Levi’s® Vintage Clothing offers a walking archive of designs that highlight that brand’s rich heritage and undeniable impact upon denim production, fashion, culture and music since the Levi Strauss & Co. clothing company was founded in 1853.
