Orienteer Mapazine
A modern take on the traditional magazine format, Orienteer Mapazine is a publication label founded by outdoor enthusiasts and photographer Rory Griffin and stylist Jack West that remains continually inspired by an admiration for technical garments and outdoor exploration. A unique print publication that splits itself into one half OS map and one half clothing guide, Orienteer Mapazine draws creative influence from the cross folding Ordnance Survey maps that many have come to know and love. Designed to be twisted, turned and to be viewed at different angles, their quarterly issues serve as a platform for like minded individuals, designers and photographers to share their work across a wide spectrum of topics including technical fashion and outdoor orientated innovation.
Publishing their first issue in July 2020 and self-defined as a new concept magazine, each release focuses on celebrating the work of new designers and creatives, with issues so far featuring editorials and interviews from the likes of Klattermusen, Roa, Berghaus, Sturla and Nanamica. With an aim to inspire people to get outside and rekindle their relationship with the earth, Orienteer Mapazine continually combines Japanese fashion magazine reference with an appreciation for vintage A-Z maps to create a new, unorthodox and immersive reading experience.
