Purple Mountain Observatory | Black
Established in 2020 by two designers and previously known as Carrier Goods, Purple Mountain Observatory is an explorative label that intersects outdoor innovation with what the brand describes as a disruptive style. Blurring the connection between nature and city living to explore the greater necessities of one’s ‘self’ and an individual's ‘home’, the brand’s technical design style focuses on the intricacies of movement and all-season functionality at its core. Defining and modernising the future of performance clothing and inspired by mountaineering, hiking and alpine culture, the brand strives to break down the traditional mould and barriers of what is defined as streetwear and what is defined as outdoors.
Shaping the next generation of outdoor consumers through the creation of accessible and gender-less apparel, Purple Mountain Observatory’s choice use of premium fabrics, stretch nylons and winterised, water-repellent materials pay tribute to their love of vintage ski wear, whilst neutral colours of khaki, olive and sage are a mainstay of their outdoor orientated aesthetic. Led by a desire to connect on a deeper level with nature by drawing continual inspiration from the earth, from evolution and from the divine proportion.
Effective September 2023, Purple Mountain Observatory is an official rebrand of Carrier Goods. Older Carrier Goods branded products may still be available.
