Hypebeast issue 24, the Agency Issue, is driven to tell the story of those who started from nothing but through hard work and resilience were able to reap the rewards of their visions.
The cover art shows the Palace skaters travelling headfirst into traffic alongside a fuzzy tri-ferg, this sets the theme of the interview with Gareth and Lev reminiscing on the humble ‘tongue and cheek’ beginnings of the streetwear brand a decade ago. The word agency conjures up ideas of conglomerate corporations or the government; however the magazine counters this through speaking to Ai Weiwei, the Chinese anti-establishmentarian artist who conveys his view on how to live a happy life.
The streetwear heavy focus further features editorials with the minds behind the Astroworld and Kids See Ghosts merchandise, Bravado. Additionally you can expect to see; Paria Farzaneh, the British-Iranian making a storm in fashion weeks and Scott Tepper on sustaining a creative agency free streetwear brand. This issue of Hypebeast reminds us that despite the uncertainties our generation faces in the future, there has never been such a time that a person could openly express themselves and turn their dreams into realities.
A quarterly magazine; Hypebeast offers an open insight into fashion, music, culture and all things inbetween and more often than not their impacts on our lives. Shared through in depth interviews, tasteful photography and editorials this is a must have read.
