Nike Air Max Tailwind IV Shoes

Prepping for the twentieth anniversary of the original, the Nike Air Max Tailwind IV Shoes are assured to be as much of an icon in 2019 as they were in 1999. Its upper uses a combination of mesh and leather to create a streamlined panel construction in summer ready white; with the leather running from the toe box, through the eye stays and to the heel of the shoe - all finished with contrasting black piping. Alternatively the side panels include white mesh, providing breathability for the warmer months, which has been decorated with contrasting fluorescent piping and an embroidered Swoosh in the iconic volt colourway. Minimalist detailing on the upper includes a 3M finish on the heel over a red Swoosh and a ‘Max Air’ spellout. The midsole is white, with a black trim and the four iconic air bubbles popping out in aloe verde - highlighted by TPU accents.

The 90’s classic maintains the same level of functional comfort that made it a legend in its heyday, the Max Air technology provides lightweight cushioning while also reflecting a real nineties look - having been inspired by the Air Max Plus and the Air Max 97. Additionally its durable rubber outsole ensures traction with every step. Finally flex grooves in the outsole bend with your foot, offer premium comfort through anatomic shaping - ensuring all day comfort.

The Tailwind legacy started in 1979, when the first iteration was brought out which featured groundbreaking Nike Air cushioning. Over the years the Tailwind’s silhouette has adapted but durable comfort stayed at the heart of it’s design. Eventually in 1999 the Tailwind IV was released, it combined an obvious influence of various Air Max models (such as the Plus, 95 and 97) with an original design to create a unique yet familiar look. Thirty years onwards, Nike welcomes this retro legend into the twenty-first century.
