Nike Air Vortex Shoes

An instant cult classic from the 80’s, the Nike Air Vortex has been massively successful in its reissue and this release is no different. This shoe uses a wide variety of a premium materials, built with a spruce fog coloured toe vamp in suede which connects round to the similarly coloured, waved suede eyelets and lacing unit which is reminiscent of the Nike Internationalist - released just a few years before the original Vortex. Similarly the toe vamp adds a new material of spruce coloured mesh. The side panel, constructed out of nylon, adds another shade of outdoor green while providing a new texture. The final bold contrast is of the suede volt glow swoosh which loops around to the heel tab under Nike Air branding. This tonal green body sits upon a clean white midsole and a gum outsole which finishes the spring palette of this shoe.

The Vortex contributes to substantial comfort through the concealed Air Unit within the sockliner of the shoe which provides more responsive protection from heavy impact, the structure of the shoe aims to be nonrestrictive in its low-top design while remaining supportive as the flex grooves mirror the manner in which you walk. Finally, sticking true to its origin as athletic footwear, the midsole is made from EVA creating lightweight cushioning.

Considered the height of technical advancement in their debut, all while maintaining a low cut and clean shape. The vortex is the perfect shoe for both street and track allowing for a variety of styles be it casual or smart casual.
