Nike Air Zoom Alpha Shoes

Remastering classics has been a theme of Nike’s SS19 campaign, and the Air Zoom Alpha has been one of the best examples yet. The wolf grey mesh that’s predominant throughout the upper makes it a perfect shoe for summer layered over this are panels of wolf grey across the lacing unit and lateral sides. Metallic silver gives the shoe a burst of reflective colour through detailing on the toe box, mudguards and embroidered Swoosh that flank both sides. Final minimalist detailing on the heel includes an embossed Swoosh and Air spellout on the white midsole.

Despite being a stitch-for-stitch remake of the 1996 original, this shoe doesn’t fail to apply modern functional attributes for a superior level of comfort. The updated version includes a full length Zoom Air unit making it one of Nike’s most comfortable rides, which replaces the original pods. Not only did the Alpha pave the way in terms of comfort for other shoes but also through design, with it’s waved mudguard inspiring the Spiridon which saw a resurgence of popularity in 2014.
