Nike Daybreak Shoes

Constructed with textural rugged orange coloured suede uppers with mottled desert orange overlays and pueblo brown hairy suede Swoosh ticks on either side of the foot, these Nike Daybreak Shoes carry a distinctive retro aesthetic which taps into the models rich history within running. The cotton lace up fastening is held in place by a synthetic leather suede border which is coloured similarly to the uppers and the padded light grey tongue has an exposed foam top edge with a wrap over Nike SB woven label that has Nike branding in a tone of very dark purple. The hairy suede Swoosh ticks on either side of the foot present a signature feature of any Nike shoe with tips that meet below a coloured heel tab which provides a background for bold ‘NIKE lettering in a shade of golden green. Around the inner edge of the ankle a padded suede border has been added whilst the cushioned sockliner is coloured in tones that match the rest of the design. True to the original archival design, the white foam midsole widens between the midpoint of the foot and heel whilst the emphasised waffle tread continues up the front of the foot and back of the heel for a high level of durability and traction.

Made famous by legendary American runner Joan Benoit Samuelson, the Nike Daybreak changed the world of running forever after being the athletes model of choice for the first ever Women’s Olympic games during the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, which saw Samuelson take gold. Originally introduced in 1979, the Daybreaks’ distinctive retro design has changed very little since being reintroduced for modern day with contemporary fabrics that enhance its timeless appeal.
