Nike Drop Type Premium Shoes

Boasting a low-cut silhouette with custom detailing, this all black edition of the Nike Drop Type Premium Shoes draw inspiration from classic tennis shoes in the NikeCourt family. As part of the N354 collection which looks to rethink convention from the inside out, the tongue is padded with an accentuated exposed foam top edge which adds a bold statement to the design. The uppers are made from smooth leather and have textural overlays with embossed branding whilst additional rubber toe caps curve around the front of the foot for durability whilst around the back of the heel the outsole continues offset for an unusual finish. Above this a leather heel tab provides a base for reworked Swoosh ticks which have been printed in white, matching the designs at the top of either tongue above the flat black cotton laces. On either side of the foot double ventilation eyelets have been added. Throughout the inside a fabric lining adds comfort whilst the sockliner has a printed graphic that highlights the inspiration behind the design. A herringbone tread pattern completes the design and supplies a good level of grip for wear across a variety of terrains.

For a streamlined look this edition of the Drop Type Premium Shoes have been constructed using an autoclave method which fuses the outsole to the midsole. The low-profile silhouette provides the perfect base for custom detailing which is unique to the design and N354 family. The experimental collection pays homage to American runner Steve Prefontaine’s fastest mile and personal record of 3:54:6 which he achieved during the Hayward Field race in 1973.
