Tender Type 490 Floor Shirt

Constructed from a rinse washed bold indigo Weaver’s blanket stripe material with alternative stripes of plain weave fabric, this Tender Type 490 Floor Shirt is an edited interpretation of a factory overshirt and has been designed and made in the UK. The front is fastened by custom made stamped solid aluminium buttons which are secured through horizontal keyhole buttonholes below a short collar neckline that has been cut in one piece. At the waist large patch pockets have been added with double stitched borders and bartack stitching at the entrance points for increased strength. On the reverse the back panel wraps over the shoulder and overlaps with front panels to form a yoke whilst the wide sleeves have hemmed cuffs.

Drawing inspiration from the antique workwear and machinery seen throughout the Great British Steam Age, Tender is a Stroud, UK based company that creates unique apparel, accessories and homewares which are rich in craftsmanship through the use of considered textiles, fastenings and dye treatments. Throughout this season an exploration into overlapping cloth is apparent across pattern cutting in addition to textiles chosen for their construction which gives each piece an additional character and story.
