Tender Type 956 Janus Jacket

New for winter ‘19, this Tender Type 956 Janus Jacket is a sturdy outerwear style made from viridian cotton molleton with a textural surface and has a stand up raised collar neckline and a button through front fastened by custom made stamped solid copper buttons. Two large rectangular pockets have been added on either side of the chest and waist, both with open entrance points - above for the chest pockets and to one side at the waist. Copper rivets have been added at each corner for strength and the lower half of the body has been opened to allow access to the pockets whilst adding a unique touch. The hem of the body is subtly shaped and additional fabric has been added along the edge as well as around the sleeve cuffs to help to maintain a neat finish.

This style has been dyed using viridian which is a green pigment derived from a stable oxide of chromium. Famous for being favoured by Van Gogh, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandisky the tone pairs particularly well with red blood - which was why it was also favoured by hospitals to reduce eye adjustment time for surgeons - and is a historical dye that is less predictable than modern synthetic dyes. As a result, this style may have an irregular finish that will age and transfer differently for each wearer.
