Universal Works x Birkenstock Boston Sandals

Made from a lightweight and soft suede, the classic Birkenstock Boston Sandals have been given a contemporary tonal update by Universal Works. The body has been finished in taupe, contrasted by a sand suede strap which features the signature Birkenstock black buckle for an adjustable fit. The cork footbed complements the tonal colour palette, with the midsole in white and gum finishing an iconic look. Despite an obvious visual update, the collaboration has ensured that the timeless Birkenstock quality and comfort have been maintained. The original cork footbed has been anatomically shaped for all-day comfort, while the EVA outsole has been applied by hand to provide both flexibility and tread.

Birkenstocks has provided functional sandals for centuries, having been founded in Germany in the 1700’s. Throughout the years they have provided the best in orthopedic footwear, in terms of style and technicality. David Keyte, founder of Universal Works is a longtime fan of Birkenstock and in-turn this collaboration was a no brainer - fusing the brands’ ethics and aesthetics.
