Folk Soft Collar Shirt - Charm Embroidery Navy
Adorned with an embroidered design created in collaboration with the Goss brothers, this Folk Soft Collar Shirt is made from a Japanese tencel, cotton blend dyed to a rich navy colourway. Garment dyed for softness, the fabric has been cut to a 50’s style shirt block shape with a boxy fit, long sleeves and a neat collar neckline. The front is fastened by matte finish metal snap stud closures and on the left side of the chest a rectangular patch pocket has been added for storage of small items such as keys or a phone. Reflecting inspirations from the ancient Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, an embroidered design has been stitched using white thread onto the chest pocket and continues across the shoulders on the reverse. The hem of the body is straight for a clean finish with split vents at the side seams for mobility and the long sleeves have pleat details with snap button plackets and cuffs.
As part of the second collaboration between Folk and the Bristol based Goss brothers, this shirt is a part of a capsule range of illustrations and paintings entitled ‘Underworld’. Inspired by the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, the brothers have re-told the story through abstract works applied across outerwear, shirts and accessories. Folk was founded in 2002 by Cathal Mcateer and are based in London.
