Levi's® Vintage Clothing 1960's Fresh Produce Bomber Jacket

Arriving as part of Levis® Vintage Clothing SS20 campaign which looks to the San Francisco Soap Box Derby of 1975, this apricot coloured 1960s Fresh Produce Bomber Jacket has a cotton corduroy shell and a full cream coloured lining. The body has been cut to a regular fit with raglan sleeves and the raised collar neckline has a neat single button fastening with a soft ribbed inner panel. The front is fastened by a full length golden zip and on either side of the waist shaped patch pockets have top and side entrance points with a single button fastening. A small woven flag label on the left side shows an illustration of an orange carrot that signifies the original version of this style being released in 1975 and coincides with a ‘Fresh Produce’ label on the inner nape of the neck which was introduced to distinguish fashion denim from regular denim. Wide thick ribbed cuffs wrap around the edge of the long sleeves and body for a stylised fit.

Sponsored by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Soapbox Derby welcomed Bay Area artists to build their own elaborate cars and race them down a winding 800-foot sloping path in John McLaren Park to raise money for SFMOMA. In celebration of this, Levi’s has recreated a selection of styles for spring/summer this year with close attention to detail and care regarding stitch count, fabric finish and original labels.
