Veja V-10 Bastille Suede Shoes

Constructed with tent coloured water-repellent suede uppers with bright colour pop accents on leather and suede panels, this edition of the V-10 Bastille Suede Shoes demonstrates Veja’s ongoing experiments with colour, sustainable materials and minimalistic design. Perforation has been added across the toe vamp to encourage breathability whilst above black cotton laces ensure a secure fastening on top of a thin leather tongue that wraps around the top of the foot, with an embossed Veja logo close to the top edge. On either side of the foot bright fluoro rubber ‘V’ overlays bring a bright burst of colour to design in addition to a fuschia water-repellent heel wrap and coral coloured insert where ‘VEJA’ lettering has been printed in white. The edge of the ankle is cushioned and the mesh lining is made from a blend of organic cotton and recycled polyester whilst the insole is made of wild rubber mixed with other materials. The wild rubber matte black outsole adds another element to the design and the intricate tread pattern provides a high level of grip.

Designed in Paris and made in Brazil in the region of Porto Alegre, each pair of shoes that Veja designs demonstrates positive ways footwear can be made that respects the use of natural materials as well as each worker involved in the manufacturing process. Having released their first trainer in 2005 the team behind Veja continue to monitor quality and production within each new design they release.
